Community Guidelines

Last updated: October 2026 · Building a welcoming and ambitious builder culture

Our Culture: Hackerzone exists to foster world-class technical creation and AI experimentation. To ensure every builder can learn, ship, and compete fairly, all participants, mentors, organizers, and judges uphold these principles.

1. Respect, Inclusivity & Psychological Safety

Treat every community member with kindness and professional respect. Harassment, derogatory comments, unwanted personal advances, discrimination based on gender, race, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or nationality will result in immediate disqualification and account termination.

2. Academic & Technical Integrity

Build with genuine craft and honesty. Do not submit code authored by others without explicit authorization and attribution. Respect open-source software licensing. Code freshness rules must be honored: the core functionality of hackathon entries must be built within the hackathon window.

3. Constructive Collaboration & Peer Reviews

Celebrate your peers' accomplishments. When offering feedback on project submissions or participating in public discussions, maintain a constructive and encouraging tone. Healthy competition should elevate everyone involved.

4. Honest Team Formation

Do not misrepresent your skills or experience during team matchmaking. Communicate transparently with teammates regarding time commitments and responsibilities before locking your team roster.

5. Reporting Violations

If you witness behavior that violates these guidelines, report it immediately to the event organizer or directly to our trust team at trust@hackerzone.in. All reports are handled discreetly and investigated promptly.
